ArborPGR Paclobutrazole Growth Regulator
ArborPGR
Systemic plant growth regulator for trees that slows aboveground vegetative growth by inhibiting gibberellin biosynthesis. ArborPGR is most effective when applied to the soil near the base of the tree, either by soil injection or as a basal soil drench.
Benefits of ArborPGR Applications
Redistributed Energy
Instead of putting energy into excessive top growth, trees can allocate more resources to root development. This can reduce pruning needs and improve drought tolerance.
Altered Leaf Physiology
ArborPGR can lead to thicker leaf cuticles, smaller stomata, and increased leaf hairs. These changes may help reduce water loss during hot, dry conditions and improve tolerance to environmental stress.
Enhanced Root Hair Growth
A stronger root system improves uptake of water and nutrients, helping trees better tolerate stress and recover from issues such as soil disturbance or construction damage.
Reduced Gibberellin Production
Gibberellins drive shoot elongation and vegetative growth. By reducing gibberellin biosynthesis, ArborPGR decreases internode length and can significantly reduce annual shoot growth, often resulting in less frequent pruning and maintenance.
Increased Abscisic Acid Activity
Paclobutrazol treatment is associated with increased abscisic acid activity, which helps regulate water use, reduce transpiration, and improve drought stress tolerance.
Increased Chlorophyll Content
ArborPGR can increase chlorophyll content, which often results in darker green foliage and improved photosynthetic efficiency.
